Freelancing In India: A Handbook

Role: Primary Author

The legal framework, in India, seems a mess. Consulting chartered accountants, banks, and tax offices — all of whom have their own version of the law — is a harrowing experience.

When just starting out as a freelance web developer, I would have loved an up-to-date, collected, summarised view on my required freelancing errands. This becomes paramount given one may not always be able to hire a professional at this stage.

This is, while not a legally integral handbook, a decent starting point. I began writing this in 2017, about the time the infamous Goods and Services Tax (GST) was ushered in, and have maintained it since.
